A tincture is an extract of plant or fungi material dissolved in alcohol and water
Can I remove alcohol from tincture?
Yes, you can steam off the alcohol by adding it to hot tea and stirring for a minute or so
Are your tinctures made from real mushroom fruit bodies or mycelium?
We ALWAYS use real mushrooms in our tinctures, never mycelium or myceliated grain
Does Keweenaw Apothecary ship outside of the United States?
Not anymore. We did previously ship worldwide however, we had a large percentage of those packages not make it to their destination. It ended up being too costly for our small business.
The dropper only fills halfway but a serving is one full dropper. What do I do?
One full dropper is equal to 1 ml. To get to 1 ml, you my need to fill the dropper more than once
Should I consult my doctor prior to ingesting any herbal product?
Yes, it is recommended by the FDA that people should consult their doctor before taking herbal products
Where do you source your herbs and mushrooms?
We locally forage and grow the vast majority of our ingredients. This is the most cost effective way to produce our products which allows us to pass on savings to you! Occasionally ingredients have to be purchased from our organic farmer partners depending on our own supply and demand. When sourcing ingredients from elsewhere we do so with great care and always source ingredients that are organic and grown in the United States. We guarantee that our customers are getting the best ingredients possible.

What is "Keweenaw"?
Keweenaw is an Ojibway word meaning "land crossing between two bodies of water." Our shop is based in the Keweenaw Peninsula, which is part of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Keweenaw Peninsula is the furthest north part of the Upper Peninsula mainland and it is surrounded by Lake Superior to the North, East and West. The Keweenaw Peninsula is known for its scenic natural beauty and is a travel destination for thousands of hikers, campers, cyclists and of course skiers! The Keweenaw measures its snowfall in feet, so be sure to have good tires if you ever plan to road trip here in the winter!
